THE IMMORTAL MAYOR CONSPIRACY (POSTCARD)
In season five of Portlandia, during the “Sea World” episode, there’s a sketch where Fred and Carrie take on the task of making a “good” conspiracy theory about the city’s mayor gain traction. It was my job to Photoshop Kyle Maclachlan’s face into Eugène Delacroix’s “La Liberté Guidant Le Peuple.”
AMIGO/AMIGA WEEKEND (POSTER)
In the fall of 2012, the Amigo/Amiga Records roster took over the Columbia City Theater in Seattle for a weekend, and it was an epic event in need of a double 11×17 poster that I was more than happy to provide.
MT. HOOD ANT COLONY (POSTER)
Designed as a flyer for a DJ night that I did under my musical alias, Oxfist, I comp’d together several images to create this illusion of Mt. Hood being an ant hill and not a dormant volcano.
ART OF BALLISTICS ‘REX 84’ (ALBUM ART)
Given the nature of the musical arrangements and the EP’s focus upon “conspiracy theories,” I created this collage with a few shameful images taken from recent U.S. history and smashed them up against some horror movie posters, and a couple nature shots.
BLACK WIDOW FLY (POSTCARD)
As part of a Photoshop class that I took, we were asked to comp together several different creatures into one new fictional entity. My favorite of the bunch was this one.
SECOND LETTER “DEAD EMBLEMS” (ALBUM ART)
The desired outcome of this collage, was to display the continuum between colonialism and war, and the costs of lopsided development to the world at large.
THE WILLAMETTE OF YORE (POSTER)
I fairly certain that no snakes of this size were ever captured on film in the Willamette River, but its fun to imagine what it might have looked like at the turn of the last century.
OXFIST ‘WELCOME TO BOMBAY BEACH’ (ALBUM ART)
The challenge of this collage was to demonstrate how our individualistic, on-line personas blind us to the larger communal truths, and comments on the commodification of travesty through social media, where suffering has become the backdrop to a selfie-able travel moment.
ART OF BALLISTICS “THE CURSE OF PAT BOONE” (ALBUM ART)
As part of the roll out campaign for Art of Ballistics’ first EP, ‘Broken Mornings,’ several visual concepts were worked up around the idea of Pat Boone being cursed by some kind of witch.
ORIGINAL PARTY MONSTERS (POSTER)
This collage was originally compiled for a poster that was advertising a rooftop after party, but it was deemed to risque for the party’s producers and promoters for the adult themes.
